The PvP adjustments in the upcoming addon for World of Warcraft, Legion, are in full swing. We have the latest details.
Many still overpowered, healers too weak
The developers of World of Warcraft: Legion are now increasingly focusing on balancing in PvP. Previously, this was not fully possible because most specializations had to be implemented in the game first. However, this has now progressed significantly in most cases, and they are beginning to gradually fine-tune things.
In Legion, the attributes of the character are mostly determined by the specialization. For example, all Holy Priests have the same values, and all Demonology Warlocks share fixed values in Intellect, Stamina, and secondary attributes. This allows the developers to specifically alter too strong or too weak classes by simply adjusting their “template” for attributes – ultimately resulting in more frequent balance patches than is currently the case.
Especially among the different damage specializations, there are still massive differences. Some classes, like a rogue specialized in ambush, deal massive damage without any possibility of reacting. However, it is still uncertain whether this is due to an ability of the artifact weapon or the rogue’s values, so they want to cautiously approach the problem.
For tanks, the situation is similar: they are significantly too strong. While they definitely want to ensure that tanking is a fun option in PvP, they currently absorb so much damage that they are hardly killable. Therefore, hit points will be reduced, and damage mitigation will be decreased.
Healers are currently particularly weak, as they typically have no chance of mitigating the damage done by other classes in any way with their healing spells and are generally regarded as “useless”. Here, the biggest changes are planned.
