The war mode of WoW: Battle for Azeroth is here. We reveal what advantages it brings for participants.
Last night (05/08/2018), a new patch was deployed on the beta server of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. This included some new quests, new models, and also the first variant of the war mode (“Warmode”). Here, players can switch to PvP mode and are rewarded with additional experience points.
What is the war mode? With Battle for Azeroth, PvP servers are being removed. Instead, players can activate the war mode on all servers. They will then be in a game world where only other players who have also enabled PvP are present. This ensures that PvP enthusiasts always find opponents and that there is always a threat from the opposing faction.
What bonuses are available in the war mode? Currently, players in the war mode receive a 15% bonus on all experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests.
Where is the bonus active? Currently, the war mode is active in all areas of the beta, not just in Zandalar and Kul Tiras, but also in the “old world”, such as Kalimdor or Pandaria. Whether this is intentional remains to be seen.
How do I activate the war mode? Currently, the war mode can only be activated in the capital cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Spontaneous switching is not possible. Anyone who decides to activate the mode must live with this decision until they can visit the capital again.
Whether there will be more incentives, such as additional gold rewards or more Azerite for the Heart of Azeroth, remains to be seen.
Keep in mind that this information is still from an early state of the beta of Battle for Azeroth. The numbers may change before the launch.
