World of Warcraft finally gives in. Patch 9.1.5 brings free covenant choice for everyone, better leveling and a lot of implementation of player requests.
The covenants of World of Warcraft Shadowlands have been controversial since the beta. The connection to a fixed covenant is liked by some players, especially those who place special value on character performance, but is rather despised. Fans have long begged Blizzard to “pull the emergency brake” and make all covenants available to all players.
Now it has been confirmed: Exactly that is coming with Patch 9.1.5. The restrictions between the covenants will be lifted. And this is just one of many, many improvements.
Everything coming in Patch 9.1.5 of WoW
Even though the PTR of Patch 9.1.5 will only start next week, Blizzard has already revealed a few highlights. We’ll show you what has already been confirmed.
Covenant switching for all: Once you reach a certain renown level with your character, you can switch your covenant without cooldown or drawbacks. You can also wear the cosmetic rewards from other covenants, even though you don’t belong to them at all. Once this has been unlocked on one character, it applies to all other characters on the same account.
Conduit Energy will be removed: Simple and straightforward. The controversial conduit energy will be gone. You can adjust your conduits and soulbinds at will and without annoying cooldowns.
Skipping the covenant campaign: If you have already completed a covenant’s campaign, you can skip it on alternate characters and thus immediately receive your third soulbind as well as the associated renown.
Torghast intro skippable: Many players are tired of the introductory questline in Shadowlands. Continuously going through the maw with Thrall and Jaina becomes boring over time. Therefore, with Patch 9.1.5, you can skip the maw intro as long as one character has already completed it.
Timewalking Legion: Timewalking will be activated for Legion dungeons. And even better: A few of the “Mythic+” variants from Legion will be integrated into the timewalking system. After the event runs for 2 weeks, it will join the normal rotation of timewalking.
Adjustment of legacy raids: No details have been revealed yet, but it seems likely that some of the old raids will be adjusted, especially in Legion and Battle for Azeroth. Many of these raids should finally be fully soloable. This also means that “legacy loot” for Battle for Azeroth will be activated. This makes farming for transmog much easier.
Torghast leveling: The “Threads of Fate” will be revised again. Included: Torghast as an option to level!
Recycling legendary items: No details have been revealed here either, but if you listen to the community, there will be an option to break down legendary items to recover soul ash and soul cinders. This reduces the need to visit Torghast if you don’t feel like it at all.
