The Game Director of World of Warcraft teases a new buff. It could bring corruption effects as desired.
In recent days, the developers of World of Warcraft have given some interviews. In the latest interview with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, there were also some hints about the current version of “Visions of N’Zoth” and new buffs that are set to come to the game soon.
Where is the information from? Game Director Ion Hazzikostas was interviewed by WoWChakra. Although many questions were similar to those in the conversation with Morgan Day, there were some exciting details – especially about the current reputation buff and potential successors that could follow.
What was said? First of all, the bad news. The current reputation buff, which increases reputation gain by 100% with many current factions, will end as planned on May 18 and will not be extended. So anyone wanting to unlock allied races or collect gold should hurry.
However, there are supposed to be one or more new changes after the end of the reputation buff. Hazzikostas said:
We want to change our focus a bit now and hopefully in the coming days we will have some information about new bonuses, some of which could even be permanent. They could give you new goals and could make catching up for secondary characters easier.
This is something we’ve often heard from people: “Hey, I have leveled all these characters to level 120, but I don’t like the thought of doing all those things to get my legendary cloak to the right level” or “How do I get exactly the corruption I want?”
These are questions that prevent players from doing meaningful things with their characters. We would like to simplify this for everyone who has this stable of level 120 characters they want to play and feel they can’t do that right now.
The entire interview was available on the Twitch channel of WoWChakra but is currently no longer available there. Alternatively, you can find the blog about the interview on wowhead.com.
What kind of buffs could that be? Here we enter the realm of speculation. However, some conclusions and ideas can be derived from Hazzikostas’s statements. The exact answer will probably be published in the coming days when the reputation buff comes to an end.
However, the following things could be possible:
- Faster progress in leveling up the cloak. Maybe an account-wide progress, similar to essences.
- A vendor selling corruption effects. Here you could, for example, break down corruption items to then receive a new currency with which you can purchase targeted corruption effects.
- More manifested visions from more activities (world quests or emissary caches) to be able to enter visions more often.
- More rewards from disturbing visions per week, which would mean more corruption items.
The exact details will surely follow in the coming days, then we will report on MeinMMO.
What buffs and changes would you like to see to bridge the time until Shadowlands?
