A new guild emerges from the remnants of the WoW pro guild Method. Under a new name, many players want to show what they can do in Shadowlands.
In recent months, the outlook for the next race for the “World First Kills” in World of Warcraft has been rather bleak. After Method broke up, only Limit remained as the most successful guild. But now, a new guild has been formed from the ashes of Method. From now on, “Echo” will try to secure the first place.
What is Echo? Echo is a new guild and announced its formation on Twitter. Even if it is not officially called so, this appears to be the successor project of many players from the guild Method. This is also evident from the lineup of players, including many well-known names who were previously with Method – such as Deepshades, Fleks, or Fragnance.
They promoted their introduction video with the phrase “A new chapter begins”:
Why did Method break up? The pro guild Method was shaken by a major scandal in recent months. Numerous allegations were made against one of the players, Josh, that he had made advances toward underage girls. It also became clear that many members of the guild at least suspected this, but nothing was done. The guild leader Sco later apologized for not taking such concerns seriously.
After that, Method broke up, sponsors withdrew, and more and more people distanced themselves.
Are all members from Method in Echo? No. Besides Josh, it seems that Sco is also not represented in the guild Echo, as well as many other veterans. There could be many reasons why Sco is not there, even if none have been officially mentioned:
- Sco is associated with the admission of guilt and would likely bring negative attention with him.
- Sco is also strongly tied to the Method brand and probably cannot simply leave it behind. After all, Method is more than just a guild name; it is a whole company.
However, there are also some fans who point out that Sco did not want to play in his position in Shadowlands anyway.
In the next expansion Shadowlands, there is a new guild that you can cheer for in the races for the “World First Kills” – with many familiar faces from the past. Whether Echo can build on the successes of Method and, above all, detach itself from the more than tarnished image remains to be seen.
