For fans of World of Warcraft, an important day has come. Today will decide how things continue in Azeroth in the coming years.
After long months of waiting, the day has finally arrived. The developers of World of Warcraft are hosting a stream to discuss the next expansion. But what is the focus of the now 9th expansion of WoW? What wishes and hopes do the fans have?
When does it start today? The reveal of the next expansion of World of Warcraft takes place today, on April 19, 2022, at 6:00 PM. What wishes do the players have? Quite a few. As usual, the community of World of Warcraft is quite diverse, and the wishes and hopes vary widely. It is already clear that Blizzard cannot satisfy all players – as the ideas of the fans often contradict each other.
We launched a survey a few days ago and identified the biggest wishes of the players. The most eagerly anticipated features on MeinMMO were:
- More account-wide unlocks
- Player housing
- New classes
- Entirely new PvE content
- New talents for all classes
- Overhaul of the old world
- More established PvE content (dungeons, raids)
- Simpler story in Azeroth, without cosmic threats
- Overhaul of professions
- New endgame activities
What is likely? All hints from the past weeks point to the announcement of the addon ‘Dragonflight’. The name was already mentioned in a leak several months ago. Back then, everyone dismissed the leak as a figment of imagination, but a few days ago this term also appeared in the code of the official World of Warcraft website. Along with some other hints, such as quests in the PTR of patch 9.2.5, mysterious back items and encrypted game content with animations that resemble dragons. This also included leaked promotional material showing Alexstrasza in new appearances.
So far, all of this information is still unconfirmed leaks.
Of course, it would be possible for Blizzard to surprise and come up with a completely different expansion – but the probability of a ‘Dragonflight’ is extremely high.
