WoW: Battle for Azeroth is almost here. The background download for the major Patch 8.0, which seals the end of Legion, is already running.
In just under six weeks, the release of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is coming. To ensure that players do not have to download the entire patch on release day, there is already the option to download a large part of the necessary data in advance. In the case of Patch 8.0, this is around 16 GB, which can take several hours depending on the internet connection.
This is how to activate the background download. If the download of the patch does not start automatically in the Battle.net launcher, you need to click on the “Options” menu item and then go to “Game Settings”. Select the “Installation & Updates” tab and scroll down to the bottom. Under “Automatic Updates,” select “Perform latest updates and download data for future updates.” Confirm with a click on “Done,” and the Battle.net launcher should start downloading the latest patch.
What’s in Patch 8.0? The Pre-Patch 8.0 already brings all relevant game data for the expansion “Battle for Azeroth”. PvP servers will be abolished and the new War Mode will be introduced instead. Numerous classes and their talents have been revised. In addition, all attributes will be reduced, as Blizzard is implementing the “Item Squish”. The relative strength of the characters remains the same, but the actual numbers for damage, healing, and attributes will decrease.
However, there is still no fixed date for the release of Patch 8.0. Most fans, however, expect a release on July 17.
