Haris Pilton and Ricole Nichie
In Shattrath, the capital of the first expansion “The Burning Crusade,” there are numerous NPCs that certainly have their origins not in the fantasy world of Warcraft but in reality. The most well-known of them is probably Haris Pilton, who stands in the neutral inn selling ridiculously overpriced junk great items – the clear inspiration is Paris Hilton. Among other things, she has the bag “Portable Hole,” which for a long time was the largest bag in the game. She also has a “Handbag of Daggers & Giganta.”
At times, she even sold a special pair of glasses, whose appearance was unique – it has since been removed from the inventory.
However, very few players know that Haris Pilton also has a companion, Ricole Nichie. She stands right next to Haris and carries the title – a clear reference to Nicole Richie, who always stood in her friend’s shadow.
However, Ricole is dead in the game and can only be seen by priests who still possess the item “The Eye of Revelation” from Classic, which was previously needed for the Priest Epic Quest. Therefore, only very few characters will still see Ricole today. However, she is not particularly talkative, only occasionally laughing at Haris.
By the way, this is no morbid joke from Blizzard: Nicole Richie is still alive in the real world – but perhaps not in the limelight like before.
