Mia the Rose
If you have quested through the Twilight Highlands during the Cataclysm, you may have encountered the NPC “Mia the Rose” towards the end of the zone. She is an elite opponent and is needed for the quest “Distract them for me”.
What very few players know: Mia the Rose is an allusion to “Mia Rose,” an American porn actress who is also a huge WoW fan and raided for a long time. It gets even a bit spicier: she even starred in a “film” that is more than just clearly based on World of Warcraft.
With this knowledge, the NPC’s statements read a bit differently when you engage her in combat:
“I knew you would come. No one can resist me, not even you.”
In the past, the allusion to her career was even clearer – at first, Mia the Rose could use the spell “Seduction,” which only succubi and a few other demons can master. Those who want to keep a memory of their encounter with this night elf should hang the quest reward “Rose-scented Hood” in their wardrobe.
“Mia the Rose” is definitely one of Blizzard’s bolder allusions, but most players will probably remain oblivious to the origin of this character forever. However, you will never be able to forget it now.
