Players have been puzzling over a riddle in World of Warcraft since September 2019. It involves the cat Jenafur, a seemingly corrupted kitten from the Void that you can earn as a pet. After many months of puzzling and even tips from Blizzard themselves, players have now figured out how to get Jenafur.
How do I get Jenafur? Basically, it is quite simple, and you just need to follow a few steps:
- talk to the NPC Amara Lunastern in the Ashenvale (Coordinates: 17/49)
- go to the house of the crazy cat lady in Elwynn (Coordinates: 44/53) and interact with an empty food bowl there
- now go to Karazhan and enter the side entrance (to the Legion instance, not the Burning Crusade raid)
- there you need to collect various food items in order and distribute them in front of the stage at Karazhan

Months of Riddling about a Cat
Players have been puzzling for so long: The riddle was already released in September 2019, along with Patch 8.2.5. The new NPC, a night elf, who was apparently forced into undeath by Sylvanas, worries about her cat Jenafur.
Players then pondered for months about what to do, but without really making progress. Because after you have spoken to Amara, there are no further hints indicating what you should do.
In January 2020, Blizzard even gave tips about the riddle, which, however, did not really help. The hint at the time was that the cat had grown tentacles now. Only now has the riddle finally been solved.
Why did it take so long? Over time, Blizzard continued to give hints, which have likely led puzzle enthusiasts to finally come up with the solution after a year.
That it took so long is probably due to the fact that the exact order of the food items had to be figured out first – and that such an order even exists.
