The wait for Patch 8.2 in World of Warcraft never ends. Slowly, the patience of the players is wearing thin.
For many players, the current World of Warcraft has “lost its charm” and they are longing for the next Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara. It brings many new features, such as two zones, a new dungeon, a raid, and the long-awaited feature of flying in the areas of Battle for Azeroth. Additionally, there are new mechanics for the Heart of Azeroth.
However, despite Blizzard repeatedly announcing and teasing news, one thing is missing: A definite release date for Patch 8.2.
Blizzard is being vague about the date: What annoys players at the moment is that Blizzard is not revealing a clear date. Instead, the developers remain cryptic and said just yesterday in the forum that the current PvP season would end “soon.” Normally, Blizzard provides a specific date for the end of the season, but this time that was not the case. The end of a season usually means the launch of a new patch.
What date is likely? Currently, the most popular theory is that Patch 8.2 will be released on June 26, in about 2 weeks. Players suspect this because Blizzard has always hinted around 2 weeks before the end of a season in the past. However, since a specific date was not mentioned this time, there is uncertainty here. Perhaps Blizzard is leaving some leeway to address any issues in Patch 8.2 and extend its duration on the PTR.
Some want BfA to end: More and more often, players express the desire for Battle for Azeroth to simply be over. They are tired of the current expansion and are already longing for the next setting and the next storyline of Warcraft. Moreover, Patch “9.0” would be the first best date for a revision of certain classes that players are currently unhappy with.
