More than 40,000 hours of pure gameplay – that’s something only a few have achieved in World of Warcraft. A gamer now asks: What values do you have?
Players like to boast about their time spent in games. “I have played 400 hours of Sims!” or “I have spent 700 hours in Fifa!” For many games, these are already quite high numbers, but there is a group that can only smile wearily at such achievements – heroes in World of Warcraft. Because Blizzard’s MMORPG has been around for nearly 20 years and some have been playing since that time – sometimes more, sometimes less.
In the process, bizarre playtimes have accumulated. A streamer now reveals his time – and racks up over 40,000 hours.
Another ‘nerd’ has been unmasked here:
Who is that? The “Touchpadwarrior” is a streamer who is active on platforms like Twitch and TikTok. He plays World of Warcraft with great passion – and has been doing so for 17 years. A while ago, he revealed a secret in response to many videos bragging about their playtime in certain games.
He showed: In World of Warcraft, he has now accumulated a playtime of 40,368 hours. That corresponds to 1,682 days of pure gameplay – or 4 years and 7 months.
Of course, when playing World of Warcraft, a certain amount of time is always spent simply “standing afk” while being in the kitchen or doing something else – nonetheless, this number is remarkable and for some, a bit alarming.
A little bonus information: The Touchpadwarrior not only has an enormous amount of playtime but has also completed it all without a mouse. Instead, he has played World of Warcraft with a touchpad from the very beginning, as seen on laptops and notebooks.
Despite this rather unusual control for gamers, he raids and also tackles dungeons of the “Mythic+” difficulty with some success.
How can you see the playtime? When you log into a character and enter the command “/played” in the chat, the playtime will be displayed. This way you can see how much time you have spent in total on a character and how much at the current maximum level (basically in the endgame of the current expansion).
Additionally, you can use interface addons like “Altoholic” (Link to download on Curseforge). This addon can compile the playtime of all your characters so that you have the (possibly quite overwhelming) value always in view. However, you need to log in once on each character.
So, the final question remains: How many hours have you already clocked in World of Warcraft? How many more hours will it be while farming bronze in WoW Remix? Feel free to share it with us in the comments – if you dare to actually share that number.
