Many players have experienced World of Warcraft together with their parents or children. A daughter now honors her deceased father in a very special way, which certainly should not be imitated by every WoW fan.
What did the WoW player do? On Reddit, 222kittymain reveals that she played World of Warcraft regularly with her father at the age of ten. She has wonderful memories of that time, which was only interrupted when she went to high school.
Her father remained loyal to the MMORPG until his progressing dementia made it impossible for him to log into WoW. Only during the Covid pandemic did 222kittymain and her dad have the chance to explore Azeroth together once again. He then passed away from lung cancer in February 2024.
Shortly thereafter, 222kittymain became pregnant. In November, she gave birth to her daughter. Her second name “Amivanna” is a tribute to her father; it is also the name of the shaman that her dad played as his main character over the years.
In the post, she explains that she realizes how strange and made-up this name must seem to many people. However, she also knows that her father is looking down on the little family and is extremely pleased with this gesture: “I miss him every day, but I know that my father lives on through her. ♥️ And who knows, maybe she will become a gamer like him too!”

How does the community react? The approximately 2,000 upvotes and around 200 comments show how beautiful many WoW fans find this tribute. However, some also emphasize that this should not be done with every WoW character.

The names of the WoW main character of MeinMMO editor Karsten Scholz would probably not be suitable for something like this.
