Leveling in World of Warcraft takes too long? That used to be the case. In just 3 hours, you can level from level 1 to 80 if you do it wisely.
In World of Warcraft, records are constantly being broken. While it could take several weeks to reach maximum level in the Vanilla days, it can now be done incredibly quickly. You don’t even need a whole evening if you put in the effort. The YouTuber Harldan has recently leveled a character solo on the live servers in under 3 hours. He is now the current record holder.
How did he do it? Even the first few minutes of the video make it clear that Harldan has invested many hours into planning. Because upon logging in, several letters await the character, equipping him not only with bags but also with various gear, potions, crafting materials, and seemingly endless utility items.
Among these are XP potions, but also quest items for the Darkmoon Faire or special, temporary mounts that can be used starting from level 1.
The value of all these items alone is likely to be in the range of several hundred thousand gold pieces.
After that, Harldan works through the quests at a breathtaking speed, visits the Darkmoon Faire, and crafts items in between to gain the XP from it. His old record of just under 4 hours is easily broken – he even makes it to the raid on time.
Can you just copy this? While all steps can essentially be replicated exactly, a lot of preparation goes into such a speed-level run. Not only do you need to farm some particularly rare items in advance, but you also depend on the monk class, which receives an additional bonus to experience points.
Additionally, you need to have some achievements, because those who have multiple characters at maximum level receive a bonus of +5% XP for each character at level 80, up to a maximum of 25%.
It’s also important to mention that there is currently an event where leveling is 20% faster anyway. Mobs drop additional XP potions and other goodies that provide an advantage in combat.
Have you ever been able to level faster? Under normal circumstances, it has not been possible to reach maximum level this quickly. An exception was the special game mode “Mists of Pandaria Remix.” There, one could level up to maximum level in 30 minutes by cleverly exploiting quests, raids, and rewards. However, this has not been possible in a “normal” game environment before. Therefore, 3 hours is an impressive time that probably won’t be beaten for a while.
Currently, you can not only level very quickly in WoW, but you can also rapidly improve your gear, as there are virtually no limits. Whatever you do in the game, everything enhances your gear.
