In WoW it sometimes happens that players are thrown out before the final boss in a dungeon or raid. However, in this case, the group leader shamelessly reveals why the kick occurred, turning people against him on Reddit.
How did the kick happen? On Reddit, user KINDERPIN shared a curious story. He was thrown from the group during a raid run without having done anything wrong. When asked, the group leader explained:
Sorry, my friend needs the loot. He is also a caller.
KINDERPIN participated in the entire run, only to miss the final battle against the final boss. This method is used from time to time, but rarely does one receive such a brazen answer; instead, it usually results in landing on the block list.
Aside from loot, there are two more reasons why players are often kicked: one wants to sell the spot in the raid to another player, or the kicked player is too inexperienced. What do other users say about this? On Reddit, the group leader receives a lot of criticism. Especially since KINDERPIN did not want any loot from the Evoker, but only joined for the fragment that everyone personally drops.
Many users demand that the group leader be reported to Blizzard for griefing. “Report him to Blizzard. This is toxicity and the kind of crap that makes people leave the game,” writes one user.
KINDERPIN likely did this, as he revealed in the course of the thread. Whether there was a punishment for the group leader is not known.
Some players also demand in the thread that members cannot be thrown out of a group. However, this can lead to entirely different problems, as this story shows.
