A diligent collector and MeinMMO reader has experienced his happiest week in World of Warcraft. In just a few days, he received six new mounts. He shared his story with us.
Which mounts are we talking about? The player Alhas, alias Cizre, received a total of six mounts during the week of February 21 to February 27, some of which he has been farming for a long time:
- Reins of the Astral Cloud Serpent (Mogu’shan Vaults on February 21)
- Stormdrake of the Valarjar (Valarjar Paragon chest, also on February 21)
- Leyweaver Flying Carpet (Nightfallen Paragon chest, February 22)
- Colossus of the Kor’kron (Siege of Orgrimmar, February 24)
- Riding Turtle (Fishing in the Garrison in Draenor, February 26)
- Experiment B-12 (Dragon Soul, February 27)
He himself describes these few days as his “perfect week.”
Many of these mounts are extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. In particular, many fans are still hunting the mounts from the Paragon chests, as they require a lot of reputation grinding.
How did Cizre obtain the mounts? Cizre only acquired the new mounts through hard work, combined with a good dose of luck. The Cloud Serpent, the Colossus, and the Experiment are rare drops from certain bosses in raids from Pandaria and Cataclysm.
The Stormdrake and the carpet are “Paragon mounts” from Legion. Paragon chests are obtained when you farm additional reputation points after reaching the reputation status “Exalted.” The mounts have a drop chance of only a few percent and are therefore particularly hard to farm due to the reputation.
The Riding Turtle is a loot piece from the cave dwellers of the Garrisons in Draenor. To summon it, you must throw Frostdeep Eels (Horde) or Moonlight Carp (Alliance) into the Garrison pond. You only have a chance to catch the fish with a fishing hut at level 3, which takes a lot of time and patience for fishing.
This is how his guild reacted: After initial congratulations, Cizre’s luck quickly became a burden to his guildmates. Already after the 5th mount, some people in the guild complained about his luck.
When his luck continued, some were apparently even more upset. Cizre tells us:
I was practically hated by my guild for having so much luck
However, since he is still part of the guild roster and plays with the people, the “hate” was probably meant to be more humorous. A bit of envy probably did seep in for some of his comrades.
What do you think of Cizre’s lucky streak?
Not necessarily on rare, but on special mounts, the community is currently hoping:
