A player has managed to collect over 1,000 different mounts in World of Warcraft. This puts him in first place among players with the most mounts. Currently, he has 1,009 mounts, which accounts for exactly 95.7 percent of all mounts available. So he is not far from completing his collection.
The player is “Wurzelstange” from the European server “Eredar” (via dataofazeroth). On the page of Simple Armory, there is a complete list of all the mounts the player already owns. It also provides a quick overview of which mounts the player is still missing.
How did he acquire the mounts? Many of the mounts can be earned through various in-game activities. These include the following possibilities:
- Completing achievements
- Grinding reputation
- Participating in time-limited events
- Drops from monsters and bosses
- Purchasing with real money in the Blizzard Shop
Many of the mounts are currently no longer available. Therefore, they are being offered at exorbitant prices on external sales platforms, even though trading is officially prohibited.
In this video, we present six of the rarest mounts from World of Warcraft:
How does the community react? Many users are surprised that there are so many mounts to collect. They did not expect such a large number to be present in the game now (via reddit.com).
Some players wonder how the mount collector acquired so many mounts. Other users reveal that he must have bought many of the mounts from external platforms because he lacks the corresponding titles that are usually necessary to obtain the mount. It seems he has also purchased some characters that were transferred to his Battle.net account.
An example is the mount that players receive as Rank 1 Gladiators. For the rank, there is both a title and the mount, but the player curiously only possesses the mount.
Additionally, there are some mounts that are actually easy to obtain, but cannot be traded across multiple accounts. This has led some players to suspect that the account specializes in purchasing mounts.
This has resulted in some users who do not wish the player any luck in obtaining the mounts (via reddit.com, icy-veins.com):
- Khelge: “Seriously, I had no idea there were people who do this in this scene. It sounds so sad to fake it like that.”
- KaizerFuckingGibby: “The mounts from the store dilute the achievement.”
- Hahalol: “These characters are all bought and transferred to his own Battle.net account. He deserves to be banned.”
However, there are also players who have taken up collecting and view the owner of over 1,000 mounts as a role model. User JTKranix writes on Reddit that the player is his hero. He is currently only at 837 mounts but he is not giving up on collecting.
