The pet battles of World of Warcraft become more attractive with Battle for Azeroth. Even newcomers can now find it easier to access.
Pet battles, known as Pet-Battles, have been a controversial topic in World of Warcraft since their introduction. Part of the player base loves pet battles and can spend hundreds of hours in the system, while another part has no interest in pets at all and just rolls their eyes when the “Pet-Battle Bonus Week” comes around – like at the present time.
The problem with pet battles currently is that they are not particularly attractive for newcomers. Those who started collecting pets with “Legion” had a hard time getting a foothold.
Pet battles unattractive in Legion
The world quests for pet battles did not have particularly attractive rewards; they were usually far behind other quests – even though they were often significantly more difficult to accomplish.
Equally unattractive was the fact that pet battle world quests required a complete team at level 25 – better were 20-30 pets at max level to be successful in all battles.
Anyone who wanted to start with pet battles in Legion had to fight through all the old expansions and level their pets painstakingly to then receive marginal rewards from quests – that was not a particularly strong incentive.
More incentives for newcomers and veterans in BfA
Even in Battle for Azeroth, the pet battle quests will continue to count as the quest for the respective zone. However, what is exciting is that with Battle for Azeroth, the pet battle quests will scale with the level of your own pet team.
For example, if you are a newcomer with pets at level 3, the quest opponent will also only use pets of level 3.
This has two positive effects:
- Pet battlers can participate in quests even with low-level pets.
- The quests provide valuable pet experience, allowing you to level up even more pets to maximum level.
Furthermore, the usual changes will occur in pet battles. New abilities, new currencies, and plenty of small pets that can be found in Zandalar and Kul Tiras.
