The next patch of World of Warcraft has been revealed. We show you what’s in Patch 9.2.
As announced earlier, Blizzard presented the next Patch 9.2 at 7:00 PM. The update will be called “Eternity’s End” and comes with a pretty big name. Whether the patch can also deliver what the name promises – this preview can give a small taste.
New Area: Zereth Mortis – The new zone will be Zereth Mortis. This is the area from which “the First” originate. Here, the afterlives were created into which souls are sorted. The Jailor already has an advantage and arrives in this area before us.
Stories from WoW are to come to an end: Particularly interesting is that the developers emphasize that Patch 9.2 will conclude stories that have been told since Warcraft III. Patch 9.2 is therefore a highlight of the story of World of Warcraft and ties together many threads to allow for new stories afterwards.
New language grants content: New in Patch 9.2 is a new language that all players can learn throughout the story. The “Cipher of the First” is spoken by the Automans and the inhabitants of Zereth Mortis. Understanding and grasping these runes gradually unlocks new content and serves as progress in Zereth Mortis.
New Raid: Mausoleum of the First – The Mausoleum of the First will be the new raid in Patch 9.2. It takes players to the place that shaped many other realms. Normal rules of physics do not apply here, making the entire place appear unrealistic and illogical in many spots. Some of the bosses are:
- Anduin
- Tormented Lords
- A being similar to Algalon
- (likely) the Jailor
Also returning are the tier sets. All classes will finally receive their own set in the new raid that is thematically aligned with the design of the class.
2 Legendary items at once: Throughout Patch 9.2, players can unlock the option account-wide to wear 2 legendary items at once. This is likely to cause quite a balance chaos for some classes.
When will the patch be released? There is no specific date for the update yet. However, if Blizzard sticks to previous release dates, the release is likely to be in about 3 months – around mid to late February.
