After long, far too long months of waiting, Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination for World of Warcraft is finally on the starting blocks. To avoid downloading endless updates on release day, you can already start with the preload. We will show you how it works.
What does the preload bring? With the preload, you can download the upcoming patch of World of Warcraft largely in advance. This reduces the amount of data you will still need to download on the actual patch day, allowing you to get gaming faster.
How does it work? For the preload to work in World of Warcraft, you need to activate it in the game settings beforehand. You do this via the Battle.net client. We will show you step by step where to enable the feature and what it does:
- Start the Battle.net app
- Click on the Battle.net icon at the top left and select “Settings”
- Select the “Downloads” option in the side menu
- Scroll down to “Game Updates” and check the option to “Always keep the latest updates for recently played games and download data for future updates”
Additionally, you can also uncheck “Pause updates when a game is launched”. In that case, a patch will also be downloaded while you are playing. However, this can negatively affect your latency.
