The latest patch 9.1 Chains of Domination for World of Warcraft is finally live. We tell you everything you need to know about it.
Players of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands have been waiting far too long for new content, but that is finally coming to an end. Today, on June 30, 2021, the first major content update “Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination” was released. Maintenance has been completed for a few minutes, and World of Warcraft is accessible again, so everyone can dive into the new content.
Since June 30, 2021, 9:20 AM, the patch is also live in Europe.
What does the update include? Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination has a lot of content for players to enjoy. Some of the most important are:
- 40 new Fame levels with new rewards
- Torghast receives new layers and a new progression with the “Box of Many Things”
- Korthia as a new mini-region
- New ranks for legendary items
- New “Mythic+” season with a new rating system
- New PvP season with fresh rewards
- Numerous new mounts and pets to collect
- A lot of class adjustments
Content is being released gradually: As is already known from WoW, not all content is available directly at launch. The raid “Sanctum of Domination” and the new dungeon “Tazavesh” will only open their doors in the coming week. The campaign will also be gradually unlocked over the following weeks and months, as well as the ability to finally fly in the Shadowlands.
How long will the patch be maintained? That is uncertain, but most speculations suggest around 6 months. Due to the home office situation, content production has been somewhat slowed down, as Ion Hazzikostas mentioned in an interview. He expressed confidence that the situation is now under control and that upcoming content will be released more promptly.
Are you already busy gaming? Or are you following the age-old rule “Never play on patch day” and prefer to wait a few days?
