Patch 9.1.5 of World of Warcraft is within reach. The final version of the update is on the PTR, so the launch is imminent.
The community of World of Warcraft has been waiting for Patch 9.1.5 for many weeks now, which particularly brings the freedom of covenant choice. Now the release seems to be just around the corner, as the latest version on the test realm makes it clear: Patch 9.1.5 can be released soon and the wait will be over.
What happened? A new patch has been deployed on the PTR of World of Warcraft. This is the first version of Patch 9.1.5, which now has the small addition ‘Release Candidate.’ A release is therefore imminent.
What is a Release Candidate? A ‘Release Candidate’ in World of Warcraft refers to an upcoming patch that is essentially ‘ready for release.’ This is usually the final version on the test realm before the patch actually goes live. Occasionally, there may be multiple release candidates if bugs are found in the patch.
When will Patch 9.1.5 be released? While there is no guaranteed release date yet, a Release Candidate usually means that the patch will be released within the next 2 weeks. The most likely date seems to be November 3, as it would directly follow the finale of the Mythic Dungeon Invitational.
What’s included in the patch? In terms of new content, there is relatively little in Patch 9.1.5. Only the Timewalking: Legion with the Mage Tower and some new rewards is a major feature. Otherwise, the patch focuses on quality-of-life improvements, allowing the free switching of covenants or reducing the most annoying grinds, especially in Korthia. Also new is the ability to earn experience points in Torghast as an alternative leveling path to level 60.
Are you looking forward to Patch 9.1.5? Or would you rather wait for the next big Update 9.2, even though that is likely to be released no earlier than March 2022?
