The next WoW patch 9.0.5 seems to be finally ready. A release candidate was discovered on the test server. But when can we finally try out the improvements?
For several weeks now, World of Warcraft has been testing the next update on the test servers. Now it seems Blizzard is satisfied with the changes, and development is probably complete. A release candidate has been deployed, hinting that the patch will go live soon.
What does this mean? When a patch is labeled as “Release Candidate,” it means that development is nearly complete. All major data is present, the content has been thoroughly reviewed, and the release candidate is essentially the version that will be transferred to the live version of the game if no new bugs are found.
WoW aims to make “Mythic+” dungeons more rewarding
What does the patch bring? The update primarily aims to improve the reward systems in “Mythic+” dungeons. After the patch, players can once again collect Valor Points and use them to upgrade items from dungeons.
This addresses one of the biggest issues currently present: the dungeons of the “Mythic+” difficulty leave relatively poor loot for the effort required to complete them. Many items are simply too weak to be useful.
With Valor Points, these items are intended to be upgraded and thus represent a potential upgrade.
When is the release? There is no concrete date yet. Blizzard will likely test the “Release Candidate” for a few more days and possibly iron out any last bugs that may have slipped in. However, nothing should stand in the way of a release. Good dates would be March 17 or the following week, March 24.

What else is in the patch? Apart from the changes to gear, there is very little new in the patch. A clear highlight, however, is the Wandering Ancient. This is an extremely cool mount that all players will receive for free when they log in during patch 9.0.5. So all those who may not be too excited about the other changes in the patch can still look forward to this.
