The release date for Patch 8.1 for World of Warcraft was announced at BlizzCon. We will tell you when it begins!
The PTR for Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth has been playable for almost a month now. However, there was no release date until now. This was finally clarified at BlizzCon, and we now know when we can play the new patch.
Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance will be released in Europe on December 12, 2018.
What is Patch 8.1 about? In the next patch of World of Warcraft, the war between Horde and Alliance continues on two fronts. The troops are battling at the new warfront on Darkshore – the Undead and Night Elves are engaged in a fierce duel for dominance over Kalimdor.
On the other side, the Alliance is attacking directly, trying to eliminate the Zandalari by assaulting Dazar’Alor. This will take place in the new raid “Battle of Dazar’Alor”. There, players can even obtain a particularly cool mount and fight a very “trolly” boss.

Content will be released in stages: It is important to mention that Patch 8.1 will not launch all features at once. Several contents will be unlocked in different phases, so players won’t feel rushed. The raid will thus be made available “early in 2019”, allowing players to enjoy some downtime over the holidays.
