At BlizzCon, the patch 8.2 of World of Warcraft was discussed. We reveal all the details about Azshara and Nazjatar.
The BlizzCon 2018 is over, and slowly but surely, all information is being gathered regarding upcoming content. What is going on in Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance is already known. However, many contents of “Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara” remain in the dark – we will show you which details have already been revealed.
Patch 8.2 also brings the heritage armor for Gnomes and Taurens!
New Area: Nazjatar
Fans have long waited to finally explore Nazjatar, the homeland of the Naga. With Patch 8.2, this wish is finally fulfilled. However, Nazjatar is not a purely “underwater” area! Instead, the Horde and Alliance discover that there is a large “rift” in the sea. In this chasm, there is air, numerous waterfalls, and thus familiar terrain that can be explored without much swimming.
A small insight into the various sub-zones was given by Jeremy Feasel from Blizzard in his presentation at BlizzCon:
- Ship Graveyard: Many ships have fallen into the abyss and crashed here. The Alliance and Horde both have their starting point in two separate camps.
- Kelp Forests: A large area, similar to a forest. However, a lot of seaweed grows here, which was recently underwater.
- Boiling Terraces: Hot springs bubbling up from the depths of the planet.
- Coral Forests: Large coral reefs freed from the water.
- Ruins of Zin’Azshara: Part of the ruins of the former high culture of night elves, which we also saw in “Warbringer: Azshara”.
All areas are of course full of Naga – after all, this is their capital.
New Raid: Azshara’s Eternal Palace
At the center of Nazjatar is Azshara’s seat of power, the “Eternal Palace”. This will be a new raid in Patch 8.2, where players will confront Azshara at the end.
Some details about the Eternal Palace have already been published. The raid features:
- A total of 8 bosses
- One of them is Queen Azshara
- There might even be an “underwater” boss
Additionally, we will see a lot of Naga culture. For instance, there is a “breeding ground” that will shed light on how Naga actually reproduce – something that all of Goldshire has been waiting for.
Focus on “replayable Content”
In Nazjatar, the developers want to place a strong focus on content that can be replayed. This includes world quests but also “new systems” that haven’t been elaborated on yet. However, inspiration for this has been drawn from many old areas – such as the Timeless Isle, the Isle of Thunder, Argus, and Auchindoun from “The Burning Crusade”.
In any case, there will also be the “usual” activities in the area, such as new pet battles. Who wouldn’t want to have this little baby Naga in their collection?
And yes: It really fights with a fork. For a real trident, it probably still needs to grow.
By the way, with Patch 8.2, there is another area – Mechagon will also be unlocked.
