The next patch for World of Warcraft brings new quest lines – especially the artifact weapons will benefit from this.
The patch 7.2 for World of Warcraft is not expected by most players before summer, but more and more details of the upcoming update are coming in on the PTR. The latest version now included the option to upgrade the artifact weapons to a new level. However, this does not happen simply with a single click, but is introduced through a quest line.
Each artifact weapon must be upgraded individually, which is only possible starting from level 35 – as soon as all “normal” abilities and the first level of the final skill have been acquired.
During the quest line, the artifact weapon is “reset” to level 34 and the 35th trait (the “fourth gold”) is consumed in the process. However, players receive excess artifact power back, so it can immediately be invested in the new traits.
In the official forum, it was stated by the Community Manager Lore:
“Note that the quest lines for unlocking the new artifact traits are not completely unique to each specialization. However, we have ensured that no quest is repeated within a class. This means that there are 7 unique quest lines available for testing – 1 for tank specializations, 2 for healing specializations, and 4 for DPS specializations. So if you play a rogue, you will have a different quest line for Subtlety, Assassination, and Outlaw, but one of them would be the same as for a Fury Warrior.”
Thus, many quest lines will likely be similar and heroes will often be sent on similar missions.
With patch 7.2, collecting artifact power is also incredibly easy – namely through archaeology!
