The latest patch of World of Warcraft is available on the PTR – Patch 7.2 brings many new features.
The developers warn at the very beginning that only a few features are activated in the first build of Patch 7.2. They want to primarily test the demon invasions, quickly address any bugs, and reach a stable state before adding more content.
The new features include:
- Demon Invasions – The Burning Legion attacks (similar to the pre-event) in large invasions. This time the Broken Isles are the target. Different zones will be besieged at regular intervals, which must be liberated by players.
- Also new is a overhaul of the reputation system. Revered is no longer the end of the line. Reputation can still be gained through world quests beyond this level, improving the loot in the chests of the emissary quests.
- In addition, the template system is being improved. Certain tier and PvP sets can now be searched via filter, which should provide more clarity when transmogrifying.
- Dungeons at “heroic” will generally be harder, but reward with better gear to keep up with the upcoming content.
- Aside from that, several new models have already been data mined. The leader of the goblins, Gallywix, finally has his own model, just like Kil’Jaeden – significantly more imposing than in the Sunwell Plateau.
- Hunters, Death Knights, and Balance Druids can look forward to new effects in spells and abilities, which are currently not final yet. Blizzard aims to continue improving the animation quality.
The features not yet implemented include flying, continuation of class quest lines, new class mounts, new properties for the artifact weapons, and all content on the Broken Shore (dungeon, raid, and world quests).
