The next patch for WoW is already being downloaded. Is the release coming in just a few days?
And suddenly everything went faster than expected. Most players were speculating that patch 7.2 “The Tomb of Sargeras” would take a few more months for World of Warcraft, but Blizzard has managed to surprise fans once again. Much earlier than expected, the background download for patch 7.2 has started, which is already downloading the game data for the update.
Is the background download not starting for you yet? Then open the Battle.net software, select “Settings” and then “Installation & Updates”. Here you scroll down and select under “Automatic Updates” the sub-point “Perform latest updates and download data for future updates”. Then World of Warcraft should update to the latest version and the pre-download should begin.
Patch 7.2 “The Tomb of Sargeras” brings the Broken Shore as a new zone, where the demon invasion of the Legion reaches its climax. Here lies the namesake tomb, a new raid instance, at the end of which Kil’Jaeden awaits to ruin the players’ day (and ultimately drop a lot of loot). Additionally, patch 7.2 brings new levels for artifact weapons, class-specific mounts, new world quests, and brings back the popular demon invasions to the Broken Isles.
There is still no specific date for the release. Past experience shows that after the start of the download, it took between one and three weeks until the actual patch is applied.
If no urgent bugs arise on the PTR in the next few days, we can probably expect a release in early April – that would be just under 3 months after the release of patch 7.1.5.
Blizzard has already released the official preview for patch 7.2.
