Patch 7.1.5 is now active and we reveal to you what has changed in World of Warcraft today – from the Guild of Warriors to class changes to the Micro-Holiday.
As early as BlizzCon 2016, the developers of World of Warcraft released most of the details of Patch 7.1.5, but today the big day has finally arrived. With the server maintenance on 01/11/2017, Update 7.1.5 was launched on the live servers.
Although the patch lacks truly fresh, lasting content – such as raids, dungeons, or new areas – it is packed with new improvements, balance updates, and plenty of little “gimmicks” designed to make the world of Azeroth more enjoyable.
Return of the Guild of Warriors
When the Guild of Warriors was introduced back in Cataclysm, it was only intended as a mini-feature that was supposed to provide players with a few hours of variation and solo challenges. At its core, the Guild of Warriors has remained just that, although the battles now have a significantly stronger humor factor and plenty of special effects.
In this way, Blizzard also honors its other games. In the latest revival of the Guild of Warriors, players can fight the team from “Ogrewatch” – a clear reference to Overwatch. However, players must first earn access to the Guild of Warriors. And you know: The first rule of the Guild of Warriors is that you do not talk about the Guild of Warriors…
Class Changes Squared
For all theorycrafters, the centerpiece of the patch is likely the extensive overhaul of existing classes. Almost all classes have received significant changes to their abilities or at least shifted some percentage points of their damage, healing, or tanking ability.
Particularly affected are shadow priests, whose core mechanics have been revised so that the Voidform now functions differently and immediately loses its bonus upon exiting the form. Retribution Paladins have generally received a good boost in damage across the board.
We show you the class changes for 7.1.5 in detail for all classes here.
Micro-Holidays – More Life in Azeroth
A small sub-point that does not offer great rewards, but a lot of variation, is the micro-holidays. These are only active for a maximum of 3 days – most even only for a single day – but are intended to fill the game world with more life.
In general, the developers have asked themselves: What holidays would the inhabitants of Azeroth celebrate? This has led to amusing events like “Watch Day” or “Boot Day.” We have a complete overview of the previous holidays and their dates here.
In the future, Blizzard plans to introduce more micro-holidays, but probably not until the next patch.
A Lot of Little Things
Apart from that, the patch is filled with small changes that will benefit the game in the long run.
- The dungeons from “Mists of Pandaria” have been included in the timewalking rotation (along with new rewards on the Timeless Isle).
- There are many new legendaries that can be found in different game content starting today, while old legendaries have been adjusted to avoid large differences in strength.
- Twinks can now be equipped with artifact knowledge more easily, which should massively speed up the gearing of secondary and tertiary characters. More about this shortly.
- The Night Fortress will soon open its doors. Here are all the dates for the instance’s opening times.
- Here you can find the German patch notes.
When the new raid “Night Fortress” opens, there will also be the stylish new Tier 19 sets.
