WoW Patch 11.2 expands the player experience of the current World of Warcraft by exploring the destroyed homeland of the Ethereals and their tragic fate.

When does WoW Patch 11.2 come out? The official release date for Patch 11.2 “Spirits of K’aresh” in Europe is Wednesday, August 6, 2025. A week later, on August 13, the corresponding 3rd season of The War Within will start.
With this, the new raid opens its gates on all difficulty levels, the new dungeon rotation of the Mythic+ season begins, and the next PvP season starts as well.

WoW Patch 11.2 is a content-packed update that expands the gameplay experience on multiple levels. In addition to the namesake new zone, there is another raid including a truly outstanding final boss (and we mean that literally!) and even a completely new gameplay mechanic.

What exactly is K’aresh? K’aresh is not an ordinary place you can just walk into. Rather, K’aresh is the shattered and void-wrecked remnant of a once-thriving world.
It was the original home of the Ethereals, a people of magical energy who wrap their “bodies” with special bandages to maintain a physical form.
But how did this happen? Long ago, K’aresh was attacked by the void lord Dimensius the All-Devouring and was literally shattered in a cataclysmic event.
The remnants of the world – huge, floating land masses and arcane-infested boulders – have been drifting through the Twisting Nether ever since. The survivors of all this transformed into what we now know as the Ethereals. They are now known as skilled interdimensional traders and travelers.
In the latest part of the story, however, the Ethereals have stolen the heart of darkness from Xal’atath and are planning all sorts of terrible things. Therefore, you must now travel to this inhospitable place and thwart the plans of the Ethereals.

Tazavesh returns not only as a dungeon in the M+ rotation but also serves as the new player hub of WoW Patch 11.2. The legendary, astral, and bustling city thus serves as a hub for you.
Phase Diving: A new way to play
The coolest new feature of WoW Patch 11.2 is the Phase Diving. This brand new gameplay mechanic allows you to enter a hidden, alternative version of the world.
You activate this ability through a new artifact cloak, the “Reshii Wrap”, which you receive early in the story in K’aresh.
But what exactly happens when you use the wrap? Once you dive into this alternative reality, the environment changes. Suddenly, new paths become visible that were previously blocked by rock walls.
Get World of Warcraft: The War Within here!In some places, unique enemies and elite creatures appear that do not exist in the normal world. Additionally, Phase Diving reveals new world quests, hidden treasures, and special resources that can only be found in this dimension.
This feature is not just a short intermezzo but is deeply woven into the exploration of K’aresh. It rewards you for looking at the world from a completely new perspective and actively switching between realities.
But the best part: Phase Diving is not limited to the new open world of K’aresh. Rather, it will be an integral part of the entire new patch.
You will also be able to use the phase mechanic in the new dungeon, the Bio-dome Al’dani, and even in certain places in the new raid, Manaforge Omega.

Besides the new zone, WoW Patch 11.2 has enough work for real heroes. Kicking things off is the new raid Manaforge Omega.
The raid – Manaforge Omega: At the heart of K’aresh awaits you the Manaforge Omega, an impressive new raid with a total of eight challenging bosses.
This massive structure was once a center of power and technology for the current Ethereals, but is now corrupted by dark forces.
A special final boss: At the end, you will face none other than the dreadful void lord Dimensius as the final boss. He is enormous and towers over cities like Stormwind.

The Manaforge Omega will open its doors with the start of the 3rd season on August 13, 2025 for the difficulty levels Looking for Raid (1st wing, LFR), Normal, Heroic, and Mythic.
The new dungeon Bio-dome Al’dani
For fans of 5-player content, “Spirits of K’aresh” introduces a brand-new dungeon.
Here, you will enter one of the huge bio-domes where they are trying to bring life back to K’aresh. But it’s not so idyllic, as something has gone wrong.
The created flora and fauna are aggressive and out of control. It is up to the heroes to restore order in this failed experiment.
The Bio-dome Al’dani will be available on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic 0 difficulty levels starting from the patch release on August 6.
