When will Patch 10.2 Guardian of the Dream be released? The release date for Patch 10.2 Guardian of the Dream is November 8, 2023. As usual, it will start a day earlier in America.
New Area: Emerald Dream
With Patch 10.2, the portal to the Emerald Dream opens. Although we only experience a part of the dream, it is an important area, namely “Ysera’s Eye” – which is essentially the core of the dream, particularly protected by the green dragons. Here, the new World Tree is planted and is meant to grow until it is strong enough to ultimately be brought to Azeroth.
Here await not only new quests and events but also new creatures we have never seen before. Additionally, many important characters, particularly associated with the story of the Druids and Night Elves, can be found here – it seems we will also see Cenarius once again.
New Raid: Amirdrassil, Hope of the Dream
The new raid in Patch 10.2 will be “Amirdrassil, Hope of the Dream”. This is the new World Tree that has been safely growing in the embrace of the Emerald Dream. Fyrakk’s forces have invaded the dream and are attempting to take control of the tree and its power. They are supported by the Druids of Flame and the Elementals of the Fire Lands.
A part of the raid is intact and inhabited by the Guardians of the Dream. These encounters will likely be “preparations” in terms of the story, requiring us to prove ourselves against significant characters of the dream.
The second part of the raid is devastated by Fyrakk’s forces. Here, the Druids of Flame and even the new Fire Lord Glimmeron (Smolderon) await – who replaced Ragnaros after his fall in the Fire Lands.
A boss fight in the new raid features a section in which you must ride on your dragon.
The final boss is Fyrakk, the embodiment of fire. He is the 9th and thus last boss of Amirdrassil.
The Legendary Axe of Fyrakk: Fyr’alath
The patch brings a new legendary weapon into play: Fyr’alath the Dream Render.
This legendary weapon is a two-handed axe with strength. It will therefore be especially interesting for warriors, paladins, and death knights.
How exactly to acquire the weapon is still unclear. However, it seems that it will not be a drop, but a reward to work towards – at least that is how the developers have explained it.
Which additional bonuses Fyr’alath grants has not yet been revealed.

Dragonflight Season 3 – All Dungeons
With Patch 10.2, Season 3 of Dragonflight also begins, which means a new dungeon pool. The 8 dungeons you can visit in Season 3 with the “Mythic+” keys are as follows:
- Dusk of Eternity: Galakrond’s Fall
- Dusk of Eternity: Murozond’s Rise
- Kronsteiganwesen (Battle for Azeroth)
- Atal’Dazar (Battle for Azeroth)
- Darkheart Thicket (Legion)
- The Ravencrest (Legion)
- The Evergreen Flor (Warlords of Draenor)
- Throne of the Tides (Cataclysm)
Final details on the affixes have not yet been released.
