Patch 10.1.7: Incarnation of Wrath is live in World of Warcraft. We will discuss the new features and tell you what you should take care of immediately.
Players in World of Warcraft are not given a long break. After Update 10.1.5 went live a few weeks ago, the Patch 10.1.7 Incarnation of Wrath has now followed. The patch has been live since this morning (06.09.2023) and offers some new content.
We will reveal to you which content you should check out and what new experiences await.
All Highlights of Patch 10.1.7: Incarnation of Wrath
Play the main questline: In Valdrakken, the main questline of the patch begins with the night elf Shandris Feathermoon. Although it is quite short, it already gives an idea of the content that will come in the next patch. With some cutscenes and even an exciting cinematic, the quest sets the stage for what will likely be the next highlight of Dragonflight in a few weeks.
Experience dream surges: Every week, a different area of Dragonflight is affected by “Dreamsurges”. Rare enemies in this area become reinforced, there are powerful buffs, and a new currency for different rewards. This ranges from mounts and pets to twink gear and even wyrm badges to upgrade equipment.
Since the rewards are still part of “Season 2” of Dragonflight, experienced characters should not expect a large power gain here. However, the dream surges are also perfect for leveling a second character as the bonuses are active even below level 70.
Traditional armor for night elves and undead: For the forsaken and night elves, there is a new questline with a strong story. Here, not only is there a lot of new and interesting lore about the two races, but also at the end, the traditional armor for night elves and undead. So if you play characters of these races, you should complete the questlines as soon as possible to secure the cool transmog.
Visit the mega dungeon on “heroic”: If you haven’t had time to check out the mega dungeon “Twilight of the Eternal”, now is the time. With Patch 10.1.7, the dungeon has also been unlocked on heroic difficulty. It is significantly easier here than the mythic variant and allows for easy access to solid loot while also battling some of the most exciting bosses of Dragonflight – not to mention that the dungeon’s story is also exciting.
Set up ping system: A new feature is the ping system, which allows you to quickly communicate commands to your group members. Take a good look at the ping system and learn to use it. With just one keystroke, you can warn about additional enemies or select a focus target. This feature will likely bring many advantages in random groups, so you don’t have to frantically type in chat.
Draenei quest coming soon: Additionally, there is a new questline that allows you to unlock Man’ari Eredar customization for the Draenei. However, this quest will only be unlocked next Wednesday (13.09.2023).
What else is in the patch? Patch 10.1.7 has some additional features that will come into play in the coming weeks and months. For example, the Brewfest and Hallow’s End have been enhanced with new rewards, new quests, and revamped boss fights. A new dragon riding event in the Eastern Kingdoms is also in the works. However, these events will only take place in the coming weeks and thus cannot be played directly yet.
In addition, there are a few secrets, such as the “old” Scarlet Monastery. The WoW community is currently trying to figure out how to unlock it.
What comes next? It won’t be long before Blizzard reveals Patch 10.2 and also unveils the next raid and the new area. It seems clear that it will go to the emerald dream – as indicated not only by the questline from the current patch but also by data mining from the Dragonflight beta.
What do you think of the new patch?
