The first update for World of Warcraft Dragonflight is not far away. The patch 10.0.5 has a release date – and the contents are known.
In the meantime, most players in World of Warcraft Dragonflight have reached the maximum level, completed many of the new reputation factions to the maximum, and are busy in the dungeons and raid of the first season. To prevent boredom from arising, Blizzard plans to implement an aggressive patch policy in 2023 and bring a lot of new content. The first of these updates, patch 10.0.5, is coming in just a few days.
When will patch 10.0.5 be released? The official release date for patch 10.0.5 is January 25, 2023. The patch goes online with the maintenance on that day and is usually available early in the morning.
What’s included in patch 10.0.5
Even though patch 10.0.5 is only a “small” patch, the content is quite impressive. After all, the update brings some long-desired features. Among them are:
The Trading Post: A new reward system, which some refer to somewhat dismissively as a “Battle Pass”, even if that does not do justice to the feature. Each month, you receive a new currency with an active account. You can earn more currency through monthly missions.
The currency can then be used to acquire particularly nice rewards from a changing assortment. This ranges from special transmog sets to mounts or toys.
Some of these rewards are completely newly created, while others are “old classics” that cannot be obtained anymore – such as old rewards from the Trading Card Game of World of Warcraft.
New Storm Event of the Primalists: The primal storm event “Wrath of the Storm” takes place in the alternative timeline of “Dawn of the Primalists.” Here, there is a particularly large event world quest that weekly entices with rewards and requires the coordination of several heroes. Multiple portals must be closed simultaneously to ultimately defeat a boss and earn new rewards.
The rewards include mounts, pets, but also items that allow you to withstand the storm longer – because when the event is active, you quickly lose warmth and risk freezing to death.
More transmog options: This feature was actually announced for the launch of Dragonflight, but better late than never. White and gray items can now be soulbound when equipped and then added to your collections. In other words: You can now use white and gray items for transmogification. These items have a rather simple look – those who are not interested in more and more “bling-bling” will find the new options quite suitable.
