Sylvanas is back in World of Warcraft – at least for a few particularly loyal fanboys and fangirls. Only loyalists get to see this scene.
Since the expansion “Shadowlands,” Sylvanas has fallen a bit out of favor. She divides the World of Warcraft community. While some players find the former Banshee Queen annoying, others remain loyal to her and await her return from the Maw.
The second group can now rejoice – as there is an exclusive, small sequence with the dark lady if you remained loyal until the end. It is a monologue that only true Sylvanas loyalists get to hear, as part of a new quest line in Patch 10.1.7: Incarnation of Wrath.
What is a “Sylvanas Loyalist”? During the “Battle for Azeroth” expansion, Horde characters had the choice to act against Sylvanas or remain loyal to her and report incidents directly. This had minor effects on the story and determined how the Banshee Queen views you. Those who remained loyal to her until the end even received a small extra quest in the Shadowlands.
Where can I find the new scene? If you complete the quest related to the Forsaken’s heritage armor, there will be a small additional task where you get to see a message from Sylvanas. You will only receive this message if you remained loyal to Sylvanas until the end.
What is said there? In a message to her loyalists, Sylvanas speaks from the Maw. She reports on her progress, that she saves souls day by day, and in doing so also eases the suffering of her own soul bit by bit. Her (translated) message is:
Greetings, my most loyal ally. I now speak to you from beyond the veil of death.
Here, in this place of eternal darkness, my work – my atonement – continues.
Even though the Maw is a strange place to find peace, every saved soul helps mine to feel a little … more complete.
As I reflect on my actions since my resurrection into the undead, I have much to regret. Things said and decisions made that I wish I could take back.
But there is one thing I will always be proud of: helping the Forsaken find a place in the world that has rejected them.
My time of leadership may be over, but I will always stand with you against those who have cast you out and call you monsters.
Under the leadership of the Forsaken Council, a new group of voices has risen to represent all Forsaken.
Stand proud in the Horde. Know that all of you were so much more than just arrows in my quiver.
Just as the family I was born into, you will always be my people. And one day, I hope to walk among you again.
I must now go. There are many more souls that need to be freed … among them is one that is particularly dear to me.
