An especially exclusive mount for World of Warcraft will be available again in a few hours. We will reveal how you can get the mount.

Original Report: Yesterday, we reported about a mount in World of Warcraft, which quickly became one of the rarest mounts in the history of the game. A promotional campaign between World of Warcraft and Pringles, which was supposed to take place only in the German-speaking area. It promised a mount called “Thunder-Ridged Elekk”. However, the event went quite wrong. Not players secured the codes, but scalpers who wanted to earn a lot of money with it.
Now Pringles says: The event continues, you have one more chance today to get the mount.
What were the problems? The event was plagued by several issues. For one, it seems there were a few errors in the organization. It is hard to explain why there are only 3,000 codes – for a game with several million subscribers. It is also surprising why the event had already started in one city with a lead, while it hadn’t in other cities yet.
Lastly, there were external influences. The site was frequently accessed from abroad, even though it was supposed to be an event for Germany. Additionally, the organizers mentioned “massive hacking attacks” that they are defending against.
How do you participate in the event? Despite all the negativity, the event is not over yet. If you visit the website pringleswow.de, you will see a message that it will continue today (March 17, 2026) at 1:00 PM. Then you should be able to register again for the event and grab some codes to redeem them in the game – or sell them expensively, just as many others have already done.
Because if you currently look on eBay or other sales platforms, you will find several codes for the mount “Thunder-Ridged Elekk” there. The prices vary between €100 and €750, making the mount one of the most expensive in the history of World of Warcraft.
Will the mount never be available again? That is not certain. Even though in the short term the Thunder-Ridged Elekk will certainly be quite exclusive, that is normally no guarantee for the future. Because many former promotional rewards end up sooner or later in other systems of the game, such as the trading post. Therefore, we strongly advise against paying a lot of money for the mount – in the long run, it probably won’t be worth it.
Blizzard clarifies: The mount will be available differently
In the meantime, the incident has made such waves that Blizzard has commented on it. The developers plan to eventually make every limited promotional mount accessible in the trading post so that it is available to a wide audience. They write in the official WoW forum:
Since the introduction of the trading post, we have considered making every new promotional mount accessible through the trading post at some point. This allows us to initially make a new mount available only to a specific part of the community, such as a certain country with limited availability, and later remove the ‘limited’ status.
