The Mage Tower Challenge in WoW was tough. Only less than 1% of the player base managed to complete the difficult quest.
When Patch 7.2 of World of Warcraft was released on the live servers nearly 2 weeks ago, players flocked to the Broken Shore in the hundreds of thousands. All resources of the Legion judges were invested in the construction of the Mage Tower. Because only with an active Mage Tower could players face the class challenge, a particularly difficult quest that unlocks an exclusive skin variant for the artifact weapon.
As Worldowargraphs (via buffed) reports, this challenge was likely too difficult for most players. Overall, only 0.5% of all players at level 110 were able to complete their mission within the first cycle of the tower!
The statistics do not indicate how many players actually attempted it. However, since the first attempt was “free” and was insidiously offered as a “normal quest,” every hero on the Broken Shore likely ran into their death trap at least once.
Mage Tower available again today
Blizzard is receiving both criticism and praise for the quests. Some players enjoy the hardcore difficulty level, while others complain that certain specializations can only complete it with the correct selection of legendary items.
Did you miss it the first time when the challenge was available? Don’t worry, today (04/13/2017) the Mage Tower will be completed again. All interested parties will then have 3 days to take on the challenge again and give up in tears of despair after several hours.
Are you one of the chosen 0.5%? Or have you not even tried the challenge yet?
