The most popular addon of World of Warcraft is returning as a remix variant. The developers have revealed initial details.
At PAX East, Blizzard also spoke a little and announced a number of new contents for World of Warcraft. Not surprisingly – but finally officially – is the announcement of WoW Remix: Legion.
What was announced? Legion Remix is supposed to be the second expansion after Mists of Pandaria Remix that receives this major overhaul as a temporary game mode. Legion told the story of the Burning Legion’s attack, who want to sacrifice Azeroth to their lord Sargeras. Most of the events of Legion take place on the Broken Isles and on the planet Argus.
Legion was considered one of the most popular expansions, mainly due to the artifact weapons and the long class quest lines. The addon laid the foundation for many further stories, such as the story surrounding Xal’atath, which began with Legion.
What will be part of Legion Remix? The exact details have not yet been revealed by the developers. But it is already clear that Legion will likely offer significantly more content than the remix variant of Mists of Pandaria – as Legion simply had more content. Accordingly, the developers will also have to put in greater effort to bring back all systems and wrap them in an exciting remix style.
- Shattered Timeline: The outdoor world of Legion will have a tougher game mode. Here, all enemies are stronger. This should be a timeline in which it didn’t look so good for Azeroth because all enemies are considerably tougher. Whether this comes with better rewards remains to be seen.
- Mythic+ Infinite: The Mythic+ system will be fully available even if your character stats climb to absurd heights. Blizzard is curious to see how many ways you can “break” the game and does not want to impose any limitations. Just like at the end of MoP Remix, where the toughest raids could be tackled solo, in Legion Remix you will likely see Mythic+ extending into the 50s, if not even higher.
When does Remix: Legion start? There is no start date yet. However, it can be assumed that the Remix event will fall sometime into the period of Patch 11.2. This is the time when the story of The War Within is finished and usually the content drought leading up to the next addon occurs. This could be excellently bridged with Remix. Presumably, this will be the case in the fall of this year.
Are you looking forward to another remix in World of Warcraft? What content do you definitely want to see in a remix and what should the developers avoid? And what do you think is still in the roadmap for 2025?
