N’Zoth in LFR from World of Warcraft turns out to be a true terror, driving groups to despair. In this case, players are often to blame for the failures.
Since this morning (03/11/2020), the final boss N’Zoth in the raid Ny’alotha can also be faced on LFR difficulty. This is actually the easiest difficulty so that even “random groups” can defeat this boss. However, this rarely succeeds, as N’Zoth slaughters players by the hundreds. The biggest problem is the players themselves.
What is happening right now? Those who sign up for the raid “The Dream of the Watch” in World of Warcraft, the last section of Ny’alotha, experience their blue miracle. Instead of simply defeating the two bosses, groups permanently fail at the final boss. Numerous players are taken over by mind control, and the fight often ends after a few seconds.
Even the “noob buff” doesn’t help: In LFR, players receive a buff after each attempt that makes them gradually stronger. This increases health points, dealt damage, and healing done by 5% per stack, up to a maximum of 50% with 10 stacks. This is somewhat condescendingly called the “noob buff” in LFR, with which challenges can be mastered that would otherwise be insufficient. Yet even this apparently is not enough to defeat N’Zoth. Many groups report that they cannot even get past 80% of the boss’s health – even with the buff.
Without the legendary cloak, players are useless
What is the problem? The biggest problem seems to be that players sign up for the fight against N’Zoth even though they do not have the legendary cloak Ashjra’kamas. Players without this cloak are immediately taken over by N’Zoth and fall out for the remainder of the fight, even becoming enemies that must be killed. You can upgrade the cloak in the Disturbing Visions – a large guide on this can be found here. Later, there will be another way to further enhance the cloak.
However, there are also other popular sources of errors that quickly lead to the premature end of the raid group against N’Zoth:
- Both tanks switch to the mind world (no one left at the boss)
- Not enough DPS players attack the synapses
- Azeroth’s rays are not used, mental health declines
This is what players are demanding: In the WoW subreddit, it is demanded that only players who have already unlocked the legendary cloak Ashjra’kamas should be allowed to sign up for this raid. All other players would just be a burden and could not participate meaningfully in the fight. Therefore, these players should be prevented from being able to participate in this LFR raid at all.
Have you also died a little in LFR against N’Zoth? Or did you simply take him down because you had a competent group?
