World of Warcraft is practically giving away items with item level 470. Now is the time to challenge yourself in a vision with 5 masks; it probably won’t get any easier than this.
For many players of World of Warcraft, the Disturbing Visions are still part of the weekly tasks. Whether it’s because the legendary cloak is not yet upgraded to level 15 or because players want to collect further corruption resistance for the cloak. This can go on until September.
However, many players are still hesitant to tackle the visions at the hardest difficulty. With 5 masks, it can be quite challenging. However, the visions have never been easier than they are this week. This should be taken advantage of.
What are masks? Masks are essentially additional affixes that make visiting the visions more difficult. They not only increase the damage and health points of all enemies but also bring additional disadvantages. For instance, you will suffer 2 insanity effects per area, have only half of your sanity available, or leave behind black puddles that damage you.
Why is it so easy this week? This week, both insanity effects in all areas are comparatively easy. While you have to deal with burning feet and bugs on the screen in the “easy bonus areas”, particularly in the hard bonus areas (Mage Quarter and Old Town), there are light insanity effects active: Heavy Foot and Followed by Shadows.
- Heavy Foot slows you down when you move during combat. If you stay still, the slow effect wears off.
- Followed by Shadows creates an expanding target circle under you. Once the circle is completely filled, all players in the circle are feared.
The two effects are quite simple and significantly easier than “Split Personality”. This affix is not present this week and usually creates copies of you that cause disorientation upon contact and can quickly lead to death.

What do you get from a vision with 5 masks? If you complete a Disturbing Vision with 5 masks fully, meaning all 4 bonus areas and the final boss, you can look forward to a nice corrupted item with item level 470. Additionally, there are a number of achievements to collect, including the World of Madness (Mad World) – for this, you need to solo both visions (Stormwind and Orgrimmar) with 5 masks. This will award you the title “the Faceless”.
