A short event is back in World of Warcraft and is enticing players with a new mount. However, it is quite rare – and your chances are limited.
Every year, the “Love is in the Air” event takes place in World of Warcraft – always around Valentine’s Day. This means not only a lot of romance but also a lot of frustration for mount collectors when the coveted Pink Love Rocket (“Heartbreaker X-45”) doesn’t drop once again. To make the frustration even worse, Blizzard has now thrown another mount into the mix.

What kind of mount is this? New in 2025 is the “Love Witch’s Sweeper.” This is a curved, flying broom in purple-pink color. The design of the broom resembles the racing brooms used in Harry Potter during Quidditch – it has a seat and additional handles. To avoid being stopped by a city guard in Dornogal at night, there’s even a spotlight at the front.
Where does the mount drop? The Love Witch’s Sweeper drops, just like the Heartbreaker X-45, in Shadowfang Keep from the event boss. You can simply sign up in the dungeon finder and will be teleported to the boss as soon as a group is found.
The boss fight is extremely easy and usually completed in less than a minute.
From the boss, if your character has already reached the maximum level, you’ll receive a “Heart-shaped Box” that can contain all sorts of interesting rewards. However, the drop chance is quite low.
Note that only the first of these boxes per day has a chance for the mount. This is also stated in the box’s tooltip.
Can you farm this endlessly? No. Per day, you only have one single attempt, no matter how many characters you have. Only the first box per day and per account can contain the mount. Therefore, it’s not beneficial to farm the boss with multiple characters as was the case in previous years.
This will definitely save you time – however, your chances are also drastically limited.
How much time do you have? If you want to snag one of the mounts (or even both), you should try your luck in the coming days. The “Love is in the Air” event is active for 2 weeks, until February 16, 2025. After that, your next chance will be in 2026 – and we might already be in the next expansion Midnight – together with housing.
