A blue phoenix is available in the store of World of Warcraft and you can get it for free – at least if you maintain a 6-month subscription.
The Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination of World of Warcraft is live and Blizzard is using this as an opportunity to tempt you into a long-term subscription. As is now customary, there is once again a new, stylish mount available when you sign up for a 6-month subscription.
What kind of mount is it? The Sapphire Cloudwing resembles already known phoenix mounts from the game. However, this mount has armor, a blue color, and much more detail thanks to higher resolution. You will receive the Sapphire Cloudwing when you conclude a 6-month subscription.
How much does such a subscription cost? A 6-month subscription currently costs €65.94 (Link to the Battle.net shop). This is a saving of nearly 15% compared to a subscription that renews every month.

Can you buy the mount separately? Yes. The Sapphire Cloudwing is also available for purchase separately at a price of €25 in the shop, in case you really want the mount but do not want to conclude a long-term subscription.
What if you already have a subscription? If you are already maintaining a 6-month subscription, you do not need to do anything further. The mount should simply be unlocked for the account in the next few days. Keep an eye on whether a “gift” notification pops up in the Battle.net app to claim the mount.
Can you earn the mount in-game? Yes, you can indirectly. If you gather enough gold to purchase WoW Tokens, you can exchange the tokens for Battle.net credit and thus obtain the mount without spending real money. If you have a lot of gold saved up or just enjoy farming, you can earn the phoenix this way.
Even more mounts and pets on sale: Basically, there is currently a kind of “summer sale” at World of Warcraft, where a lot of mounts and pets are drastically reduced in price. In most cases, the price is significantly lowered by 50%. A mount that would normally cost €25 is currently available for €12.50. Pets that would normally be offered for €10 are currently available for €5.
If you enjoy collecting mounts and pets and are also willing to spend a few euros, you can take advantage of this – or buy such a pet as a gift for a friend.
Can the phoenix tempt you into a 6-month subscription? Or do you find such mounts just annoying and frustrating that they can’t be obtained in the game in a regular way?
