Brann Bronzebart in World of Warcraft will remain with you. He will not disappear with Season 2, but will stay until the end of the expansion.
In World of Warcraft The War Within, the depths are a complete success. Solo players finally have an engaging endgame activity where they can get good loot without social commitments in raids or dungeons. A feature that Blizzard wants to continue to cater to.
But first, there are changes. Because Brann Bronzebart was actually supposed to retire with Patch 11.1 Undermined and the start of Season 2 – but he will stay for the entire expansion The War Within.
Our Anna has this opinion on the upcoming WoW housing:
What was the original plan? When the depths were introduced for The War Within, the original plan was for Brann Bronzebart to be the companion in the depths for only one season. In the second and third seasons, a new character was to be introduced to replace Brann.
What has been changed now? Since the Warcraft Direct, it is clear: Brann Bronzebart will stay for the entire duration of the expansion “The War Within”. Only with “Midnight” will we get another character alongside us to accompany us into the depths of the next expansion.
What else will change about Brann? With Patch 11.1, Brann will receive the option to act as a tank in addition to his damage and healing specialization. He will be able to draw enemy threat to himself, relying on you to support him accordingly. This should make it easier to complete the depths as a healer without having to switch to a DPS specialization.
Then the depths will truly be accessible to all player types and can be completed solo in every specialization – just as the feature intended.
Why was this changed? Game Director Ion Hazzikostas revealed this in an interview on YouTube with Taliesin & Evitel. He explained:
People have leveled Brann and are used to having all his abilities. A strong Brann with all the things you have unlocked for him. And if we were to replace him with someone new, wouldn’t that feel like a bad reset of “borrowed power”? It would be harder in the depths where you had no problems last week.
But simply swapping Brann for a new character who “inherits” all his power was apparently not seen as a solution either:
If the new companion comes with all abilities unlocked – what’s the point? Where we ended up was simply: Brann works. Let’s build on that and expand the options available. New jewelry for him, with a goblin theme. (…)
The plan now is for Brann to remain your “The War Within” companion. There will be someone new for Midnight.
Thus, the matter is settled, and you will have Brann Bronzebart with you for quite a while. You can look forward to him frequently leaving you his 4 gold plundered loot or always sprinting at exactly the wrong moment to mine an ore at the other end of the room while you are surrounded by nerubians.
At the end of The War Within, Legion Remix is probably waiting for us – which is also highly sought after.
