The year 2022 starts in World of Warcraft with a small hiccup – because an event simply won’t start. The Darkmoon Faire is still on vacation.
The new year has begun and it will hopefully be more successful for World of Warcraft than the previous one. But right at the start, there is a small hiccup, as the Darkmoon Faire seems to have missed its cue. Many are wondering: What is going on?
What happened? The Darkmoon Faire was actually supposed to be active and provide players with additional buffs to experience points and reputation gain. However, anyone who wanted to joyfully pass through the portal in the Elwynn Forest or Mulgore this morning (01/02/2022) was bitterly disappointed. Apparently, the operators of the Faire are still trying to sleep off their New Year’s hangover.
When should the Faire always appear? The Faire follows a fixed schedule and generally appears at the best times – that is the first Sunday of every month, until the following Saturday. This means you have exactly one week to enjoy activities like special quests, mini-games, or performances by in-game music groups. There are also a variety of transmog rewards, such as clothing in the colors of the old “T 0.5” set. Plus, there’s plenty of toys.
What is going on? Most likely, this is a bug. It seems that the “start triggers” for events need to be manually entered, and this was simply forgotten for the Darkmoon Faire. It can be expected that the issue will be fixed in the coming days and that the Faire will then start with a delay.
This can also be checked in the in-game calendar of World of Warcraft. There are simply no entries for the Darkmoon Faire for the year 2022.
The fact that the error still exists after a few hours is probably due to the fact that it is Sunday, and usually, the work of most people – and thus also the developers – doesn’t really get going again until Monday.
It is likely that the error will be fixed in a few days.
