The community of World of Warcraft has deciphered a new secret. With this, you will become a truly nasty rare mob that can kill players.

Patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth has been live in WoW for a little over a week now, and players are slowly beginning to uncover the first secrets and hidden details.

The first big secret of the patch is particularly fun: It turns players into a powerful rare mob that can kill other players. But be warned: Other players can also fight back and claim the loot from the rare enemy.

What has been discovered? The community of the “Secret Finding” Discord server has found a way for players to be transformed into a rare mob. This rare enemy has special abilities and is hostile to all other players. As long as you are the rare enemy, you have a special quest that requires you to kill 10 players.

However, other players can fight back and defeat the rare mob, which grants conquest and corrupted tokens.

This is how you become the rare mob “Void Wraith” in Patch 8.3

We will tell you how to become the rare enemy yourself. To do this, you need to complete several steps. The most important of these has been possible since the launch of Battle for Azeroth.

Step 1 – Obtain the Abyssal Ether: The secret is based on an old item that was introduced in Patch 8.0. You need the Abyssal Ether for that. This is an item dropped by the Abyssal Herald. You can summon it if you have collected a total of 20 Abyssal Fragments – you can buy them from the AH or farm them in the “old zones” of Battle for Azeroth. But beware, the drop rate is low.

Once you have 20 fragments, combine them into Abominable Essence of the Depths. Now head to the Stormsong Valley mine at coordinates 59 / 53. Here you can see a flame and follow a short path to a statue. Activate the essence and defeat the enemy that appears there. This not only gives you the mount “Blood Serpent of Nazjatar” but also the Abyssal Ether.

Step 2 – Collecting small stones: After using the Abyssal Ether, you will be able to see additional items in the areas of the current invasion of the Dark Empire. These are tiny “pebbles” found in the rifts of the Void that are scattered throughout the area. When you pick up your first Corruption Shard, a quest starts that requires you to collect a total of 20 shards.

Step 3 – The transformation: Once you have collected 20 Corruption Shards, you need to find an idol. The location will not be shown to you, which is why you see several positions on the map below:

As soon as you hand in the quest and take the next quest, you will immediately be transformed into a “Void Wraith” and equipped with powerful abilities. But beware: From this moment on, other players will see you as a rare enemy on the map and can attack you as well.

This quest is, by the way, repeatable. If you want, you can become the boss once a day, but you must collect Corruption Shards each time.
