Anyone who has always wanted a purple Murloc in World of Warcraft should seize the opportunity now. We reveal how to get the cute Glimr.
Last night, excitement reigned again on the “Secret Finding” Discord for World of Warcraft. A player stumbled upon a strange Murloc, which soon started a quest line. At the end, you even get a cute pet with an extraordinary color.
How to get Glimr, the purple Murloc
We explain step by step how to find and complete the quest line surrounding the new Murloc pet. Keep in mind that you will need a water mount (the upgraded artifact fishing rod works too) and a team of battle pets.
Step 1: Start the Quest
Travel to Northrend to the Grizzly Hills. Fly to the southwest, to the coordinates 18 / 88. There, on an ice floe, you will see a purple Murloc. When you approach the Murloc, it will run away, leaving behind some scales. You can click on these to start the quest line.
Step 2: Off to the Borean Tundra
The quest will lead you to the Borean Tundra and then takes a relatively typical quest path. King Mrgl-Mrgl gives you the task to get familiar with the new Murlocs. He provides you with 3 potions that grant you underwater breathing. You’ll definitely need them because a large part of the quests takes place underwater. Accept the follow-up quest and return to the Grizzly Hills. The quest marker, which new in Patch 9.0, should lead you directly to the target – an old shipwreck.
Step 3: Gain the Trust of the Murlocs
- Now you need to gain the trust of the Murlocs by completing various tasks.
- You start by collecting food, which you can get from the crabs nearby.
- Then, you will kill a large sea lion and bring its innards to the Murlocs’ Oracle.
- The next quest requires you to retrieve a pearl from the depths. You will need swimming speed, preferably through a water mount. Avoid the elite enemy, who can quickly kill you.
- After the pearl, you will face a pet battle against a Murloc trainer. Since the Murloc uses two water pets, you should use flying type pets.
- Next, you need to dive once more and collect three different types of seaweed. But beware! Electrified algae deal heavy damage. You should return to the shore after each of the three dives, otherwise, you will die from exhaustion damage.
- The final task is to kill a Makrura – simple and without major issues.
Once you’ve completed all of that, you can receive the little Glimr and welcome him to your Murloc collection.
Is this really a riddle? Only in the broadest sense. The quest line is somewhat hidden and has minor difficulties, such as the pet battle or the need for a water mount, but does not present the difficulty of a typical WoW riddle. Once the trigger is found, the rest almost plays itself.
Nevertheless, it is a nice pet for all collectors and Murloc fans.
