The first patch for WoW: Shadowlands is approaching. But what could be in the first update of the current WoW expansion?
The latest expansion of World of Warcraft, Shadowlands, has been live for several months now. Usually, by this time, the next patch is already far along in testing, and in some expansions, it would have even been implemented by now. However, there have been no indications of how things will proceed with WoW – until now.
What kind of patch is this? Blizzard is preparing the PTR for patch 9.0.5. This has already been discovered by the colleagues at wowhead. This is the first real update since the release, although there have been numerous hotfixes. These primarily addressed balance and bugs, focusing on fine-tuning.
What could the patch contain? So far, this is pure speculation, as datamining cannot begin yet. However, a significant clue is that patch 9.0.5 is only a “small” 0.5 patch. These typically come without major content (like a new area or a raid tier) and instead have many small improvements and changes. Possible contents might include:
- Minor story missions
- Innovations in Torghast
- New legacy armors for outstanding races (such as Draenei or Trolls)
- Return of the brawler’s guild at Shadowlands level
- New mini-events
- Improvements to the anima and world quest system
More info at BlizzConline: It is safe to assume that Blizzard will be withholding information about upcoming patches for now. After all, BlizzConline is taking place in less than two weeks. This is the replacement event for BlizzCon. New content and future plans will be revealed here.
Are you excited about a new Shadowlands patch? Or do you still have enough to do with the current content?
Before the patch, you should take advantage of the current content –like this week’s easy Stormy/Inspiring affixes.
