In patch 10.1.5, there is a very special surprise in World of Warcraft. In the new mega-dungeon “The Twilight of Eternity,” there is a mount that can transform into other mounts. The reward is given at the final boss, which is why not many of these specimens have been looted by players yet.
What kind of mount is it? The mount is called “Reins of the Quantum Courser.” Normally, when a player uses such an item, they receive a mount that they can call from now on. However, the “Quantum Courser” is not an ordinary mount: it randomly transforms into the reins of a mount “from the past.”
MrGM has already defeated the mega-dungeon and shared evidence of the mount’s existence on Twitter. Here you can see how the Quantum Courser transforms into “Midnight’s Eternal Reins,” which we know from the Karazhan dungeon in WoW Legion:
Unfortunately, it is not yet known which mounts the Quantum Courser can transform into. The term “from the past” could theoretically refer to all previous expansions of World of Warcraft.
This may please mount collectors in particular: This way, extremely rare specimens like the Pureblood Firehawk or event-based mounts like the X-45 Heartbreaker could be among the random rewards. This would make rare mounts more accessible. However, the exact range of mounts is not known.

How do I get the mount? Patch 10.1.5 is currently only accessible on the public test server. Once the patch is released for the standard servers, the mount can be obtained in the “The Twilight of Eternity” dungeon.
The mount is a possible reward from the final boss of the dungeon. So if you attempt the mega-dungeon multiple times, you will have a chance each time to get a mount “from the past.”
When does patch 10.1.5 come out? So far, there is no official release date for the “Tears in Time” patch. Blizzard has only mentioned that the update will come in summer 2023. As soon as we learn more information about it, we will let you know on MeinMMO.
Currently, “The Twilight of Eternity” is only playable as a mythic dungeon. It can be assumed that it will be added in heroic mode and as a Mythic Plus variant – but in two parts.
