The WoW chefs are hosting a livestream and want to reveal some details about Shadowlands. Is there finally a start date for the beta?
Several weeks ago, Blizzard announced a livestream in which the developers wanted to talk about content from WoW: Shadowlands . Due to the “Black Lives Matter” movement and the numerous protests around the world, Blizzard postponed this stream to ensure that “more important voices are heard”.
Now there is a new date for the livestream – and the big guessing game about what the developers might announce.
When does the stream take place? The stream will take place on Wednesday, July 8, at 6:00 PM German time. You can follow it live on the YouTube or Twitch channel of World of Warcraft.
What will be presented? The Game Director Ion Hazzikostas and Executive Producer John Hight will talk about “the latest expansion and some content currently in development.” Whether it will include brand new, unknown features or details about already known content is still unclear.
What could be presented? So far, only speculation exists about the content of the stream. Some fans hope that Blizzard will pull a real surprise out of the hat and even announce a new class. Realistically, however, that seems rather unlikely, as no indications of such content have been found in datamining, and such content would likely have already been mentioned at BlizzCon.
It is more likely that Blizzard will go into detail and highlight specific mechanics and game systems from Shadowlands. The major pre-event that is supposed to introduce Shadowlands could also be presented. After all, initial voicelines from Nathanos Blightcaller and Mathias Shaw have already been found for this event.
Beta start and release date?
A major hope of the players is that Blizzard will finally announce the start of the beta for Shadowlands (you can register here) during the livestream. Because so far, the upcoming expansion is still in alpha, and only a very small percentage of players, streamers, and journalists have access. With the official start of the closed beta, large waves of invitations are usually sent out, allowing significantly more players to test the upcoming content.
Another point would be the official announcement of a release date for Shadowlands. Because so far, the release is only roughly set for “Q4 2020”.
What kind of revelation are you hoping for in the livestream? What could Blizzard present and what features would you like to see?
