Patch 7.2 of World of Warcraft gets a very special dungeon – all fans of pet battles rejoice.
It was a small announcement at BlizzCon 2016, but the fan community responded enthusiastically: All pet battle fans can look forward to new content – pet battle dungeons.
While no one could quite imagine what that would look like back then, the developers of World of Warcraft have now released a first rough guide that presents the first pet battle dungeon.
The players travel once again into the Caverns of Wailing – right, the long-forgotten instance in the Barrens that probably hasn’t been visited since level 20, because it is a single labyrinth and even experienced players regularly drive themselves crazy.
Lead your favorite pets into the Caverns of Wailing
Essentially, the “dungeon” runs similarly to the tournament on the Timeless Isle. A total of 6 pet battles must be completed: 3 battles against “normal” teams and 3 more against bosses.
On the first visit to the Caverns of Wailing, there is also an additional fight that is supposed to have something to do with Naralex – the night elf who was protected and awakened during the “normal” instance visit.
To enter the dungeon, you only need a single pet at level 25. However, the developers recommend showing up with at least 15 max-level pets if you want a realistic chance. Throughout the dungeon, it is not possible to heal the pets in the usual way. Once a pet is defeated, it is not available for the rest of the dungeon. Tactics and planning are therefore essential once again – but that’s exactly what makes the fun of pet battles, right?
WoW 7.2 brings hot pet instances and rewards
As a reward for the first completion of the dungeon, a stone is offered that can instantly raise any pet to “rare” and level 25. On subsequent weekly visits, there is a reward bag that can contain one of three new rare pets, in addition to pet good luck charms and plenty of pet stuff. For collectors, a weekly visit is therefore a must.
It is hinted that the strange incidents in this dungeon – to be precise, a corruption – are only a harbinger of something that is yet to come. So it can be expected that there will be more pet battle dungeons at a later time… or we might get the first signs for the addon after Legion.
Speaking of “after Legion” – we already have a theory about the old gods.
