A first cinematic from Patch 9.0 has been found in the game files of World of Warcraft . Check out what is about to happen in Azeroth …
With the Pre-Patch 9.0, the data miners at wowhead have already managed to decrypt a first cinematic from the game files. Even though the cinematic is not yet accessible, it can already be viewed. It shows the trigger that leads players to venture into the Shadowlands.
Spoiler warning: The cinematic shows content that actually belongs to the pre-event that has not yet started. You have been warned.
What is shown in the cinematic? The video shows the fallen Lich King Bolvar Fordragon, shortly after Sylvanas’s attack. The forces of the Death Knights have returned the necropolis Acherus to Northrend to collect the Lich King. He is extremely weakened from the battle and tells his companions what has happened. Sylvanas has destroyed the Helm of Domination and thereby torn the veil between Azeroth and the Shadowlands.
Watch the video here:
Dark clouds are gathering around the world as Sylvanas puts her plans into action. Mysterious, winged creatures from the Shadowlands swoop down and abduct key leaders from the Horde and Alliance.
Can it be seen in-game already? No. Although the Pre-Patch 9.0 is already live, many features are still not available. The cinematic and the associated content, such as the Scourge attack, will only be unlocked shortly before the release of Shadowlands. However, it is still unclear when that will be. So far, Blizzard has not provided a new release date.
What do you think of this cinematic? Does it increase your anticipation for Shadowlands?
